Larimore Golf Club

What is the course like?:
The course opened in 1969. This is a beautiful course with many trees lining its fairways which are bordered by a standard cut of rough. Water hazards come into play at least five times, and many sand bunkers have been strategically placed throughout the course. The average-sized greens vary in slope and speed. Locals say they really enjoy playing this course because it's extremely scenic. The course includes waterhazards. And has 1-10 sandbunkers.

Gaston Country Club

How is the course?:
The course was built in 1957. This course has generous landing areas on the fairways and large, fast greens. Most of the greens are elevated and severely sloped. There are streams and lakes that come into play on seven holes. The toughest hole to play is #3, a 437-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot up a dogleg right fairway that slopes from left to right, then an approach shot to an elevated green. Ellis Maples designed the course. Gaston Country Club has 18 holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 51-60 sandbunkers.

How is the course?:
The course was built in 1968. This course has large greens that are fast and difficult to read. Hole #5 is a challenging 170-yard, par 3, and hole #7 is a challenging 445-yard, par 4. The green fees are good for all-day play. Local Members designed the course. This course has 18 holes. The course includes waterhazards.

Fairlawn Country Club

How is the course?:
The course opened in 1917. This wide-open course was built on rolling terrain and features many valleys. Water comes into play on three holes. There are six challenging par 3's. Larry Packard redesigned this course in 1960, followed by Arthur Hills in 1973. William Langford designed the course. The course includes waterhazards. And has 51-60 sandbunkers.

Brookfield Country Club

What is the course like?:
The course opened in 1969. This course will require you to use all the clubs in your bag. The fairways are narrow, hilly, and tree lined. All the greens are severely undulating. The signature hole is #17, a 462-yard, par 4, requiring two enormous shots to reach the green in regulation, especially since the last 200 yards plays uphill. A stream also runs down the last half of the fairway on the right side and then bisects the fairway. Michael Riley designed the course. Brookfield Country Club has 18 holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 21-30 sandbunkers.

Golf Club at Timber Pointe, The

What is the course like?:
The Golf Club at Timber Pointe is a semi private facility featuring a championship, 19-hole golf course designed by architect Mike Schulz, and opened for play April 2003. The course is a links style layout, with plenty of mounding in the fairways that will offer some challenging lies. A few fairways are tree lined and all are bordered with a standard cut of rough. The undulating greens vary in size and roll fast. Water comes into play on a few holes, and there is ample bunkering throughout the course. Timber Pointe plays from 4,915 to over 7,020-yards, and there are five sets of tees to accommodate a variety of handicaps. Governors Club

How is the course?:
The course opened in 1994. This private club offers and eighteen hole regulation course and a nine hole regulation course. The Eighteen Hole Course winds its way gracefully along the beautiful inclines of Edwards Mountain, touching the perimeters of serene lakes, and offering exciting new challenges around each and every turn. Here, tucked beautifully away on 1,600 acres of rolling wooded hillsides, no stone has been left unturned in creating a quality game of golf. The greens are large, well bunkered, and Lake Jordan can be seen from many holes. "Golf Digest" rated this as the 9th "Best in State" course for 1995-97, and the 12th best for 1995-96. The Nine Hole Course is located on top of Edwards Mountain at an elevation up to 700 feet. It offers beautiful vistas for your viewing pleasure, but also places a premium on shotmaking. Jack Nicklaus designed the course. This course has 27 holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 21-30 sandbunkers.

Course description:
The course was built in 1960. This beautiful course is very scenic. The course was built in a natural setting without disturbing any of the natural surroundings. The fairways are wide open, and the greens are medium in size and speed. The terrain varies from rolling to hilly, and there is a long creek flowing throughout the course that comes into play on several holes. The course includes waterhazards.
