Westwood Golf Club

What is the course like?:
The course was built in 1929. Formerly known as Duquesne Golf Club, this short course has fairways that are wide open in some areas and tree lined in others. The terrain is mostly hilly. The greens vary in size from small to large, but they are all fast. There is no water in the layout, but sand bunkers protect nearly every green. The par 5's for the men are back to back on holes #5 and 6. Ferdinand Garbin redesigned this course in 1985. Golf carts are mandatory for guests, and a member must be present in order for their guests to play the course. The course has 18 holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 31-40 sandbunkers.

Franklin Park Golf Course

What is the course like?:
The course opened in 1970. This short course has large greens and wide, tree-lined fairways. There are no water hazards on the course. However, there are a few sand bunkers. The ladies tee off from the same set of tees as the men. The course includes waterhazards.

Sewickley Heights Golf Club

How is the course?:
The course opened in 1960. This course is best known for hole #6, a 623-yard, par 5, which has a green that has never been reached in two. Players have a double dogleg fairway to select from when approaching the green, but they'll need to chip in from far if they have any chance for an eagle. This large greens are fast, so three putting isn't uncommon. The course record is 69 from the blue tees. "Golf Digest" rated this as the 15th "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and 17th best for 1997-98. The 6,221-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 77.3 and a slope or 141. During the weekends, guests can only play when accompanied by a club member. James Harrison & Ferdinand Garbin designed the course. This course has 18 holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 41-50 sandbunkers.

Bon Air Golf Course

How is the course?:
The course opened in 1932. This short course has narrow fairways that are bordered by a thick cut of rough. The fairways were built on rolling terrain and feature many trees that can alter your shots. Water hazards (three lakes) come into play on four holes. Harold Heinlein designed the course. The course has 18 holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 1-10 sandbunkers.

Club at Nevillewood, The

Course description:
The course opened in 1992. This exquisite course plays long from off the men's professional tees, featuring a slope of 137. The fairways afford generous landing areas, and the greens are undulating and medium-sized. There are lakes that come into play on six holes. Group and private lessons are available. The green fee shown is for an unaccompanied guest. This club annually hosts the Mellon Mario Lemieux Celebrity Invitational. Jack Nicklaus designed the course. The course has 18 holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 91-100 sandbunkers.

Treesdale Golf & Country Club

How is the course?:
The course opened in 1994. This club added nine new holes in 1998, giving it three nine hole courses that can be played in three eighteen hole combinations. The newest nine, the Lakes Course, was routed through a rustic wooded area. The fairways on this nine are spectacularly wooded. This original eighteen hole course, the Orchard/Grove, is typically wide open, but there is a multiple cut of rough bordering the fairways, plus the tree get thicker on the back nine. The large greens on these nines are undulating and fast, plus some are multi-tiered. Arnold Palmer said, "every hole on this course is a signature hole," but the club chose hole #11, a 211-yard, downhill par 3, as the most scenic hole on the course. What is the course like?:
The course was built in 1954. This hilly course has small and challenging greens. There is water that comes into play on three holes. There are plenty of sand bunkers to make the round a little more difficult. This course has 36 holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 31-40 sandbunkers.

How is the course?:
The course was built in 1920. This hilly course features many trees that can alter your shots. The greens are average-sized and heavily bunkered. The fairways are average width and bordered by a thick cut of rough. In addition, numerous sand bunkers protect both the fairways and greens. Ferdinand Garbin redesigned the course in 1986. Emil Loeffler & John McGlynn designed the course. This course has 18 holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 61-70 sandbunkers.

Longue Vue Club

How is the course?:
The course was built in 1920. This tight course has fast greens which are fairly sloped. All the holes are well bunkered, and the fairways are narrow and lined by a thick cut of rough. Oakmont East Golf Course

How is the course?:
The course opened in 1938. This course is hilly on the front nine and predominantly flat on the back nine. There are no water hazards and only a few sand bunkers to contend with. Most all the fairways are tree lined and the wind is hardly ever a factor. The greens are extremely large, slightly sloped and average speed. Most of the tees and greens are elevated.
