Forest Heights Golf Course

What is the course like?:
The course opened in 1962. This is a challenging nine hole par 3 course. The fairways are open and the greens are small. Water and sand do not come into play on this flat course. This is a great walking course. Alfred A. Schardt designed the course. The course has 18 holes. The course includes waterhazards.

Shorewood Country Club

What is the course like?:
The course was built in 1916. This very scenic course plays alongside Lake Erie. It was built on predominantly flat terrain, and the wind often is a major factor for scoring well. The fast greens are small and undulating, and the fairways are about thirty-five yards wide. Water hazards come into play on ten holes. The ladies' par is actually 75. William Harries designed the course. This course has 18 holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 21-30 sandbunkers.

Tri-County Country Club

What is the course like?:
The course was built in 1924. This course's fairways are tree lined, but somewhat open. The undulating greens are fast, and there are two water hazards coming into play on six holes. The signature hole is # 4, a 260 yard (white tee) par 4. Requiring you to either lay up to the pond some 210 yards from the tee or try your driving skills & distance to the green in one. Water hazards on the right & left along the fairway with a pond immediately to the front of the green. Charles G. Nieman designed the course. The course has 18 holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 11-20 sandbunkers.

Chautauqua Golf Club

Course description:
The course was built in 1910. This club has two regulation eighteen hole courses. The Lake Course is more wide open than the Hill Course. A difficult shot is needed on hole #6, a 145-yard, par 3, requiring a carry over water to a well-bunkered green. The Hill Course is heavily wooded and features narrower fairways and larger greens that aren't as sloping as the ones on the Lake Course. Hole #3, a 374-yard, par 4, has both trees and water down the left side of the fairway to avoid. Donald Ross designed the back nine and redesigned the existing holes on the Lake Course in 1921, and X. G. Hassenplug then redesigned all eighteen in 1980. Donald Ross designed the course. Chautauqua Golf Club has 36 holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 21-30 sandbunkers.

Sugar Hill Golf Course

Course description:
The course was built in 1993. This is a nine hole executive course. The fairways can be tricky because of their subtle undulations resulting in some uneven lies. The out-of-bounds stake is designated by the cliff overlooking Lake Erie. Randell Trumpler designed the course. The course has 18 holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 1-10 sandbunkers.

How is the course?:
This course was built on a hillside and plays alongside a lake. The tree-lined fairways are wide, and the greens are medium in size and speed. This is an enjoyable course that plays downhill most of the time. There is an additional set of men's tees that can be used when playing an eighteen hole round. Miller designed the course. The course has 18 holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 1-10 sandbunkers.

Lakeside Golf Course

What is the course like?:
This is a hilly course with wide-open fairways. There are three ponds that come into play on four holes. There are out-of-bounds stakes lining the right side of many of the fairways. The course doesn't have any sand bunkers, but there are a number of grass bunkers. Hole #3 is a par 4 that has an elevated tee and green, with trees blocking the approach to the green and a ditch that comes into play. The club runs a weekday special of eighteen holes and a cart. The course includes waterhazards.

Rosebrook Golf Course

What is the course like?:
The course opened in 1942. This facility added an additional nine holes in the spring of 1997, making it a regulation eighteen hole course. The course has 15 water hazards, including a gorge that must be crossed four times, and new ponds may to be added to increase the level of difficulty. There are 15 sand bunkers in play including the famous "Road Bunker".

Even though the fairways are lined with trees, they still afford generous landing areas. Course discounts include 2 for 1 Tuesday, $45 for 2 on a cart with unlimited golf on Friday, and $15 after 4 pm with unlimited holes on weekends.

George Mumm designed the course. The course includes waterhazards. And has 11-20 sandbunkers.

Hillview Golf Course

What is the course like?:
The course opened in 1936. This course has a pretty good design. The front nine is older than the back nine. The fairways have some slope to them, and the greens are a little bit smaller and faster than your average course. The green fees listed are good for all-day play. The ladies tee off from the same set as the men. A. W. Porter designed the course. The course includes waterhazards.

Moon Brook Country Club

What is the course like?:
The course opened in 1918. This is a tough and challenging course where the placement of shots is critical. The wide-open fairways are tree lined, and the large greens are fast. There are water hazards that come into play on many holes, and sand bunkers are spread throughout the course. Out-of-bounds stakes line seven holes. William Harries designed the back nine in 1928, and the course was then redesigned by William and David Gordon in 1958, followed by Robert Trent Jones in 1959. Willie Park, Jr. designed the course. The course has 18 holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 51-60 sandbunkers.
