Back Creek Golf Club

How is the course?:
The course opened in 1997. This links-style course features fairways that open up for a clear view of Delaware's beautiful C&D canal. However, for a links-style design, the course is very tight. The large greens are fast and advertised as the "best greens in the area." "GOLFWEEK" selected it 98th among "America's 100 Best Modern Courses" for 1999. The 6,105-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 75.7 and a slope of 135. Senior discounts are only available Monday through Thursday. The dress code specifies no denim or sweats of any color or kind, collared shirt, soft soled or soft spiked shoes only and bermuda length shorts. Shangri-La Resort

What is the course like?:
The course was built in 1982. This resort has two regulation eighteen hole courses, and it gets a majority of its business from corporate outings and visits. Both courses feature hard-to-read greens and hilly fairways. About eighty percent of the tees and greens on both courses are elevated. The courses are located on an island. The Blue Course has more trees than the Gold Course. However, the houses lining the Gold Course add to the difficulty. The Gold Course has more water hazards and wider fairways than the Blue Course. Water hazards (ponds) come into play on ten holes on the Golf Course. The greens on the Gold Course are fast and undulating. This facility's driving range playes to 150 yards and only irons are allowed. Shangri-La accepts tee times one day in advance for the public, and two weeks for members and resort guests. Donald Sechrest designed the course. Shangri-La Resort has 36 holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 41-50 sandbunkers.

Hidden Valley Golf Course

What is the course like?:
This is an executive course where you can improve your iron play. Senior citizens will enjoy themselves here because its easy to walk and the green fees are reasonable. Children sixteen and under can get a free round of golf after twenty rounds. The course has 18 holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 1-10 sandbunkers.

What is the course like?:
The course was built in 1960. This course plays fair because there are no hidden hazards. The greens are medium in size and speed. Water hazards come into play on eight holes. What is the course like?:
The course opened in 1913. This executive course is very hilly, so come prepared for some extra exercise, as well as a few uneven lies. The greens are fast year-round and relatively flat. The fairways are wide open with very few trees standing in the way of the greens. The signature hole is #7, a 331-yard, par 4, which has a slight dogleg left fairway. Water hazards come into play on thirteen holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 11-20 sandbunkers.

Old Landing Golf Course

Course description:
The course opened in 1965. This course is located next to Rehobath Bay. Golfers should be prepared to use all the clubs in their bag by the end of the day. Water hazards (three ponds and a stream) come into play on seven holes. The signature hole is #2, a 431-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot up a narrow tree-lined fairway, then an approach shot to a green that is guarded by a large sand bunker on the right. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 5th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996. This course has 18 holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 31-40 sandbunkers.

Wallkill Golf Club, Town Of

Course description:
The course opened in 1991. This course features a tight design. Several trees are still young, but as they mature the fairways will become even more narrower than before. The sloped greens are medium-sized, and the contoured fairways are somewhat hilly. Water hazards come into play on eight holes. The signature hole is #15, a 148-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot over water to a green that slopes from left to right and is protected by two bunkers on the left.

Steve Esposito designed the course. Wallkill Golf Club, Town Of has 18 holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 41-50 sandbunkers.

What is the course like?:
The course was built in 1996. This is course is great for a challenging round. It's mainly a target course, with no trees coming into play. Water is the prominent hazard featured throughout the course. Hole #7, a 325-yard, par 4, is probably the toughest hole on the course. The course is laid out beautifully near the bay. Joe Lucido designed the course. The course includes waterhazards. And has 11-20 sandbunkers.
