Bristow Golf & Country Club

How is the course?:
The course opened in 1947. This scenic course has an abundance of wildlife living on and around the grounds. There is a lake that comes into play on a few holes. The most demanding hole is #3, a 322-yard, par 4. This course's fairways are narrow, and its small greens are fast. There are additional sets of tees that can be used when playing an eighteen hole round. The 3,067-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 38.3 and a slope of 133. Perry Maxwell designed the course. The course has 18 holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 21-30 sandbunkers.

Indianwood Golf & Country Club

What is the course like?:
The course opened in 1988. This club features two regulation eighteen hole courses. The club hosted the 1994 U.S. Ladies' Open on the Old Course. This club has also hosted the Michigan PGA Championship for the past ten years. Both courses have a Scottish links flavor to their designs. The Old Course was built on rolling terrain, so it is very rare to get a level lie. There are only a few water hazards coming into play on this course. The greens are large, fast, and undulating. "GOLF Magazine" rated this course among the "Top 100 Courses in the U.S.". "GOLFWEEK" awarded it 45th in the category of "America's 100 Best Classical Courses" in 1997, 53rd for 1998 and 45th for 1999. The New Course is a target course where your tee shot is crucial. There are numerous mounds that can cause uneven lies, and the fairways are lined with a tall heather rough. This course can be very unforgiving because water hazards come into play on fourteen holes. Vincennes Elks Golf Club

What is the course like?:
The course opened in 1935. This course is reserved for Elks club members and their guests five days a week. Public play is only accepted on Mondays and Fridays only. Water hazards come into play on several holes, plus many of the fairways are extremely narrow and tree lined. The signature hole is #16, a 572-yard, par 5, which plays along a tree-lined fairway and is considered the tightest hole in Southern Indiana. The back nine was built in 1981. Tee times are required on weekends and holidays. The pro shop is open 7AM weekends and 8AM weekdays, weather permitting.

Pinnacle Country Club

Course description:
The course was built in 1985. This course offers a pleasant atmosphere for playing because it is located alongside Cedar Lake. The fairways are very narrow because there are several mature oak trees which can alter your shots. In addition, water hazards come into play on several holes, so shot accuracy is at a premium. Don January designed the course. Pinnacle Country Club has 18 holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 41-50 sandbunkers.

What is the course like?:
The course was built in 1924. This course was built on beautiful farmland back in 1920. It is frequently being updated and remodeled. Many mature trees line this well-manicured course's fairways. Water hazards (four man-made ponds) come into play on a number of fairways and around a couple of greens. Mellen Golf Course has 18 holes. The course includes waterhazards. Sullivan Country Club

What is the course like?:
The course opened in 1933. This course is very challenging, due to the variety of hazards that come into play on all of the holes. Wind plays a factor on several other holes. The fairways are undulating with numerous mature trees, out-of-bounds and water hazards lining the edges. A creek can be found meandering through the design and coming into play on three of the nine holes. The greens are large and relatively flat, and the course is very well-irrigated. The course includes waterhazards. And has 11-20 sandbunkers.

Long Marsh Golf Club

Course description:
The course was built in 1999. This course is owned by the Lemon Bay Club, which is located in nearby Englewood. The club gets its name from the neighboring wetlands, and features relatively flat terrain. Wide fairways and large greens combine to make this course very "golfer-friendly." Local golfers state that the layout offers a challenge, yet does not "beat you up." From November through April, the course is closed to public play before 1 PM. The 6,061-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 74.3 and slope of 125. Ted McAnlis designed the course. This course has 18 holes. The course includes waterhazards. And has 1-10 sandbunkers.

Pine Hill Country Club

Course description:
The course was built in 1962. This course has water hazards (lakes) coming into play on at least ten different occasions. The greens are moderately fast, and the wide fairways are lined with pine trees. The most difficult hole on the course is #9, a 530-yard, par 5, requiring a tee shot past a large oak tree situated in the center of the fairway, then an approach shot over a lake to the green.
